The design for the new Hacop and Hilda Baghdassarian Preschool prioritizes the development of creativity, critical thinking, and community connection in a child-led learning environment. The school and campus are designed to empower young children to become confident, curious learners by encouraging them to explore their natural interests and curiosities.
A series of playgrounds are carefully crafted to stimulate sensory development through a variety of textures and sound instruments, while also providing a strong connection to the seasons and the movement of the sun. This allows children to engage with their environment in a way that is both fun and educational.
The preschool building consists of six classrooms designed to remain flexible and allow children the space to create and take part in forming their learning environment. Multi-functional interior cores provide a place for teacher’s to collaborate and prep before and during class time while also serving washroom and storage needs for the children.
